A chartered civil and structural engineer with extensive experience in the design and management of engineering projects in the UK and New Zealand.

Dan graduated in 2008 with a first class Masters degree from The University of Leeds in Civil and Structural Engineering.

Upon his return to Leicester where he was born and raised, Dan found employment with a multi-disciplinary consultancy, where for over 5 years he took a lead role in the design and management of various engineering projects.

He became chartered in 2013 and was offered a position with a top construction firm in New Zealand where he worked on large scale projects such as the seismic strengthening of the Majestic Centre, Wellington’s tallest building, and construction of New Zealand’s first smart motorway.

Himanshu Patel

An experienced civil engineer whose expertise includes bespoke houses, industrial buildings and multi-room developments.

Himanshu graduated in 2011 with a second class (honours) Masters degree from Loughborough University in Civil Engineering.

Upon graduating, he found employment with PRP in our Brixworth office. Working closely beside his senior colleagues he worked his way up through the company, learning the ‘PRP way’ to become one of our latest Directors.

Himanshu has worked on a wide range of projects during his years in the industry. His main areas of expertise are bespoke houses, industrial buildings and multi-room buildings.

Matthew Sharlott

Matthew Sharlott

Surveying

A chartered building surveyor specialising in CDM, party wall matters, asbestos surveying and project delivery.

Matthew joined PRP in January 2005 where he commenced a part time course to gain a building surveying degree from Birmingham City University.

Matthew became chartered with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2013. He has acted as planning supervisor and CDM co-ordinator on many projects as well as principal designer on various high profile residential developments in London.

He also specialises in party wall surveying, acting on behalf of the building owner, adjoining owner or as agreed surveyor and is a member of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club.

As a qualified asbestos surveyor he regularly carries out both management and refurbishment & demolition surveys.

James Martin

A chartered engineer with structural engineering experience spanning residential, industrial and high-rise developments.

James graduated as an engineer from the University of Warwick in 2007 with a Masters degree in civil engineering and progressed to gain his chartership.

He went on to work for multi-disciplinary consultancies in Worcester, London and Birmingham where he applied his structural engineering experience to a variety of schemes across a multitude of sectors.

These included a number of high profile schemes such as The Walkie-Talkie in London and the latest grandstand at Bath Racecourse.

He joined our Northampton team based in Brixworth in 2018 and then joined our board of directors in 2019.

James designs and manages civil and structural aspects of PRP projects from bespoke houses to industrial buildings and high rise towers.

Jack Norris

A chartered structural engineer with expertise across structural engineering, highways, transportation, flood risk and drainage.

Jack graduated from Loughborough University in 1978. He commenced his employment at a small Leicester based consultancy as a graduate structural engineer where he progressed to senior engineer status.

Jack joined PRP as a partner at its inception and is responsible for developing and managing the Leicester office.

In addition to structural engineering, Jack has a wide range of expertise which includes highways and transportation, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.

Barry Smith

A chartered structural engineer with longstanding experience at PRP across engineering and environmental disciplines.

Barry graduated from Hatfield Polytechnic in 1991 with a BEng Hons in Civil Engineering prior to commencing his career at PRP.

Barry became a chartered structural engineer in February 2001 as well as an associate at PRP where he is now a director responsible for the Northampton office.

Samantha Maunder

Business and Finance

Responsible for PRP’s day-to-day business and finance functions, bringing extensive finance and recruitment experience to the executive team.

After working in finance for a number of blue chip companies including Bass Brewery PLC and British Gas PLC, Samantha commenced her employment in September 2004 with PRP as a finance manager bringing a wealth of finance and recruitment experience with her.

Responsible for overseeing all of the day to day business and finance functions in PRP, Samantha was asked to join the executive team in 2012 where her experience and knowledge has contributed to PRP achieving our necessary goals and ensuring the company remains one of the leading consultants in our field.
