As part of STEM British Science Week two of our engineers, James and Karen, visited Purple Oaks Academy in Northampton which is a special school for students with autism and/or severe learning difficulties.
James and Karen gave a brief presentation about the interesting world of geotechnical, civil and structural engineering to a group of students during their assembly.
Sarah Martin, principal said “The students at Purple Oaks Academy were very engaged by James and Karen’s assembly and they enjoyed having the opportunity to ask professional engineers questions about their industry. The assembly was a fantastic start to British Science Week and linked perfectly to this year’s theme of ‘Growth’. The students were able to put the information shared to good use during the rest of the activities they took part in. We’re grateful to James and Karen for taking time out of their day to visit us.”
