The Party Wall etc Act 1996 provides a framework for preventing and resolving disputes in relation to certain types of work on party walls, boundary walls and excavations near neighbouring buildings.

PRP have wide experience in interpreting the The Party Wall etc Act 1996 and in acting as building owner’s surveyor, adjoining owner’s surveyor and agreed surveyor. We serve the necessary notices on adjoining owners, carry out schedules of condition and deal with any counter notices or disputes arising via awards.

As part of our neighbourly matters service we can also negotiate and prepare oversail and access agreements generally in the form of crane and scaffold licences.
