This new net zero carbon industrial and logistics facility Super W, is a 246,136 ft2 facility which sits on an 11.03 acre site in Warrington. PRP provided full civil, structural and geotechnical engineering services for our client on this scheme from planning through to completion.
It has a double height entrance foyer, office accommodation, 15m eaves height, 18 dock levellers and a two storey transport hub office. Externally, the unit features 229 car parking spaces with a 50m yard and rooftop photovoltaic panels.
The complexities of the site related to contamination, existing drainage and cut and fill. PRP were able to effectively deal with all planning conditions associated with the contamination and implement solutions.
We reused the existing drainage system wherever possible and along with the contractor, we designed an effective cut and fill strategy to ensure the competency of the ground below the floor slab, met the required performance criteria.
