Hornsey Rise is a development of 19 executive new homes near Market Bosworth featuring unique designs incorporating traditional construction including oak framed entrances.
PRP provided full civil and structural engineering services including:
The storm water design utilised SuDS principals including a wetland area to attenuate flows suitably before discharging to mains sewerage.
PRP undertook an intrusive site investigation which highlighted both clay and granular soils present on site. Foundation designs had to be tailored to the specific ground conditions local to each plot taking account of tree influence on clay soils or minimising excavation depths within granular soils where trench stability was challenging. This was done through regular site visits and inspections during the foundation construction.
The houses were of bespoke design with large open plan spaces and numerous features such as oak framework and split levels. The structural design integrated numerous supplier interfaces including steel fabrication, engineered timber joists, trussed rafters and oak framework.
PRP also acted as Principal Designers for the project as required under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
