Guildhall Walk is an existing grade II listed building and PRP worked closely with the client to covert this building from offices to 90 student apartments and ground floor retail units including adding two new floors.
PRP provided a full structural survey and remedial works specification.
We provided full civil and structural design including timber frame design of two new upper floors and acted as party wall surveyor and principal designer.
We also undertook extensive below ground drainage investigations and provided specifications for the repair and replacement of the current drainage system therefore saving the client money on the previously proposed new drainage system.
The property had three separate basements covering the entire footprint of the building. The basements were used as air raid shelters during the Second World War and PRP completed a full refurbishment and demolition asbestos survey in accordance with HSG264.
