Ben Nevis For Charity

Team PRP recently embarked on a challenging expedition to conquer Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. Their mission? To raise funds for Birkett House Special Needs School, a renowned educational institution that caters for children with moderate, severe and complex physical learning difficulties across 5 sites in Leicester.

The focus of their fundraising efforts was to support the much needed refurbishment of Birkett House’s social skills room, an essential space where students have the opportunity to develop independent living skills. Recognising the importance of creating an inclusive environment, the school sought to establish an area specifically designed for children in wheelchairs or those with limited stability, fostering a sense of togetherness and enabling collaborative learning experiences.

Team PRP, consisting of 10 dedicated employees, embarked on their ambitious journey on a sunny Saturday morning where they braved the challenging terrain. It proved to be an arduous task, pushing some of the team to their physical limits. However, after an exhausting 5 hours, each member of the team successfully reached the summit and made it safely back down again. Although everyone was proud of their achievement, some of the team found the experience much more enjoyable than others!

Team PRP’s tremendous effort was not in vain and they managed to raise an impressive £1010, all of which has been donated to Birkett House Special Needs School. The funds will contribute to the refurbishment of the social skills room, transforming it into a welcoming and inclusive space where students can flourish.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored Team PRP and Gaynor Hall, Business Manager at Birkett House who said, “The impact of PRP’s donation goes far beyond the monetary value, as it will bring about positive change in the lives of the children at Birkett House Special Needs School. The students, along with the dedicated staff deeply appreciate the kindness and generosity demonstrated by PRP and the community.”.
